Charity Lagos
-Principal of Central Park Christian Academy
It all started when…
My sister (Keren ), a young lady in third grade was asked to explain what mother nature created. She sat in her desk and refused to write, her teacher asked her why she wasn’t writing anything, she answered “ Mother Nature didn’t create anything, God did.” Her teacher scalded her for saying so. It was then that Pastor Adolfo De La Garza our father saw the need for his children to grow in the christian values as our founding fathers had established so many years before. Therefore, he decided to open up Central Park Christian Academy in the fall of 1994. We have been open ever since, and plan on being open for many more years to come.
What Program do you use?
Here at, CPCA we use the, Abeka Program. The Abeka program is a wonderful program that teaches our children to love their country and fear God though the beautifully detailed lessons given each day.
The Abeka Program was Established 1972, by Dr. Arlin Horton and his wife, Beka, of the Christian school in Pensacola, Florida. Their textbooks and curriculum are based on biblical education and philosophy. Christian philosophy and American values that were not being taught in the public school setting due to the movement of the atheist woman Madalyn O’hair. Madalyn O’hair was successful in taking prayer and christian religion out of the public schools system in 1963 and generations of our children in the US have grown with out the full knowledge of our countrys history. Take for instance, they do not know that our founding fathers came to this great land for christian freedom. That people like Patrick Henry, and his speech (give me liberty or give me death) mentions the freedom that God gives us, and that, that is the reason no person should be held as slaves to the government of England. Most people don’t even know that before every meeting that our founding fathers had, they would gather and pray to our God almighty for wisdom and direction. They prayed before signing the declaration of indipendence. Our children are going to grow up without knowing what the archives truly say about our founding fathers. Because, the atheist believe that God and government don’t mix. What do you think? Should our children grow up with a diluted knowledge of their own history, or should we take advantage of the freedom our founding fathers fought for and keep our history alive?
